Grenada Spicemas (Carnival) is a tribute to the island’s famous spice production. It is one of the most fast-paced and anticipated events. Each year during the months of July and August, the island of Grenada is alive with colour, energy, and activity, as it transforms into a massive celebration filled with the Jab Jab, elaborate costumes, intoxicating rhythms, parades, pure Caribbean energy, and more. Grenada’s Spicemas is also known for having arguably the purest J’ouvert morning experience in the world.

Soca Islanders must provide proof that they have purchased travel insurance for the duration of their trip. Remember, international flights aren’t included and prices are based on sharing a double room with two beds. DAY 1: AUGUST 06

Arrive in Grenada – Preeday VIP

  • Arrive in beautiful Grenada and settle into your chosen accommodation
  • Take advantage of some leisure time before the Soca Islands Meet and Greet event
  • Meet your fellow Soca Islanders who will be your companions for the next seven days of festivities
  • Kick off the excitement by heading to the first fete on our itinerary – Preeday.
DAY 2: AUGUST 07

Island Tour – La La Land

  • Discover the breathtaking natural wonders of Grenada starting with a visit to Grand Etang Lake
  • Take a tour of a rum distillery and sample of the spirits they produce
  • Learn the art of making chocolate
  • Dive into a pool at the base of a waterfall
  • Attend the second event on our itinerary – La La Land
DAY 3: AUGUST 08

Soca Raff Up Grenada – Soca Monarch Finals

  • Attend the third event on the itinerary – Soca Raff Up – a cooler boat cruise
  • Watch the best Soca Artistes in Grenada compete on one stage at the finals of the Soca Monarch competition
DAY 4: AUGUST 09

Free Time – Shhhhh All-Inclusive

  • The morning is yours to spend at your leisure… go the beach, or explore the activities of your choice
  • Attend the fourth fete on our itinerary – a food and drink inclusive event – “Shhhhhh”
DAY 5: AUGUST 10

Rum Boat Drinks Inclusive – Sunny Side Up All-Inclusive

  • Spend the morning partying on a boat at the fifth fete on our itinerary – Rum Boat, a drinks-inclusive event
  • In the evening we complete the final fete on our itinerary –  Sunny Side Up, another exciting drinks-inclusive event
DAY 6: AUGUST 11

J’ouvert – Grenada Carnival Street Parade Day One (Monday wear) – Monday Night Mas

  • Kick off your morning bright and early today to join the best J’ouvert celebrations in the world – Jab Jab J’ouvert
  • Later in the afternoon, we’re hitting the streets of St. George for day one of the Carnival Street parade, as the city comes alive with exuberance, creativity, and cultural pride, marking the exciting start of the Carnival street celebrations
  • Then to round it all off, we head out once more that night for the Monday Night Mas celebrations.
DAY 7: AUGUST 12

Grenada Carnival Street Parade Day Two (full costume)

  • We party once again through the vibrant streets of St. George, the capital city of Grenada.
  • Today you wear your full costume
DAY 8: AUGUST 13

Good-bye Grenada

  • Depending on your departure time, you might have a few hours for some last-minute shopping or a refreshing dip in the sea
  • Take a moment to bid farewell to this beautiful island and to your new friends

Grenada Spicemas payment plan

Final Payment due on or before June 07 2025

Soca Islands provides you with the most flexible payment plan making it super easy and affordable to book your Grenada Spicemas experience by providing two payment plan options.

  • Option One: 15% deposit is due upon booking, followed by 35% of the total cost due 30 days after booking. The remaining 50% due 60 days before your trip.
  • Option Two: 25% deposit is due upon booking, followed by regular monthly payments. The total cost must be paid in full 60 days before your trip.

For bookings made between 90 and 60 days before the start date of the experience, 50% of the total cost of the experience must be paid upon booking.

Bookings made between 60 days and 30 days before the start date of the experience, 100% of the total cost of the experience must be paid upon booking.

Will the itinerary change?
Please keep in mind that our itinerary, activities, and hotels might change. These adjustments could happen with little notice due to factors like availability, weather conditions, seasonal shifts, or other circumstances beyond our control. Rest assured, we always aim to minimise any impact on your experience. Occasionally, we may tweak the itinerary to try out fresh ideas and keep the adventure exciting.

What time do I need to arrive (in time for the welcome event)?
We recommend arriving before 3 pm on Day 1 to make it in time for the welcome event. But don’t worry – no matter when you land, we’ll have an airport transfer ready for you.

What time should my flight depart on the last day?
There are no scheduled activities on the final day, so feel free to book your departure at your own convenience.

Are airport transfers included?
Yes. If you arrive on Day 1 of your adventure or book pre-tour accommodation with us, your airport arrival transfer is included. If you choose alternative pre-tour accommodation or arrive by another mode of transport, you’ll need to arrange your own arrival transfer.

Our arrival transfers are private to Soca Islands and are organised in groups based on flight times. Sometimes this means a short wait at the airport until other flights arrive.

Are tips included?
Tips are not included in the cost of this tour. Remember, tipping is entirely at your discretion and based on what you feel comfortable with.

Do I need a visa?

What vaccinations and medication will I need?
While we’re not medical professionals, we want to help you prepare for a safe and healthy adventure. Here are some tips:

Grenada, with its unspoilt landscapes, has the perfect balance, appealing to the interest of adventure lovers, beach dwellers, or couples looking for a romantic destination. On our picturesque and petite island, you can go for a swim in the crystal clear waters of Grand Anse Beach to trekking through the rainforest of Seven Sisters Waterfalls, all within a day. This English-speaking nation has some of the friendliest people in the Caribbean, so, even if you happen to get lost, you will surely encounter other aspects of their vibrant culture and hospitality. You can also do some island hopping to the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, which are located off the island’s northeast coast.

How to get around in Grenada

Things to do in St. George, Grenada
The Grenada capital of St. George offers a range of things to see and do. The heart of the city is home to a bustling tourism scene, with cruise ships docking in the port each day. You can find a wide variety of shops, markets and malls in St. George’s. everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to spices, clothes, souvenirs, handmade crafts and more available.

The busiest day for the fruit and vegetable market is Saturday and locals come in from all over the island to set up small stalls. Two of the must-see historical attractions in the Grenada capital are Fort George, built by the French in the early 18th century, and Fort Frederick. Both location offer many beautiful views over the town and sea. You may also want to stop by Grenada’s National Museum. Located in a French barracks and former prison built in 1704, the museum displays a collection of historical artifacts from the Caribs and Arawaks. There are also exhibits on the sugar and whaling industries.
