Payments and Refunds

If you cancel within the six days after the day you book, we refund every payment you have made, add-ons included (for bookings made at least 60 days before departure). After that, these charges apply to the trip price:

• 90 or more days before departure (Carnival: 120 or more): you lose your deposit, and anything you paid above it becomes a Soca Islands travel credit valid for 24 months.
• 60 to 89 days before departure (Carnival: 60 to 119): 50% of the trip price (Carnival: 75%).
• Fewer than 60 days before departure, or a no-show: 100% of the trip price.

Optional add-ons, such as a Carnival costume, feathers, a hotel block or a group flight package, are priced separately from the trip. We pay for them to a third party on your behalf (the mas band, the hotel or the airline) and can't get that money back. So after the six days they are not refunded, and any part you haven't paid yet is still due. The charges above apply to the trip price only. If we cancel your trip, add-ons are refunded with everything else.

Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended. Full details are in section 6 of our Booking Terms and Conditions.

Yes. You can transfer your place to another person up to 14 days before departure, as long as they accept our Booking Terms and meet any entry and age requirements. The payments you have made, including for any add-ons, move with the place; we don't refund them to you. The new traveller pays any name-change charge a supplier makes. To transfer, email bookings@socaislands.com.

If we cancel your trip (for example because a departure has not reached its minimum of 6 travellers, which we will tell you at least 45 days before departure), you choose: a full refund within 14 days, add-ons included, a free transfer to another departure of the same trip, a transfer to a different trip (paying or receiving any difference), or a travel credit worth 105% of what you paid.

If a trip cannot run because of something outside our control, such as a hurricane or Carnival being cancelled by the authorities, you choose a travel credit worth 110% of what you paid or a refund less the non-recoverable supplier costs we have already paid, which we itemise.

We want you to know exactly where you stand before you pay, so here is the timeline you agree to when you book:

The six days after the day you book: you can cancel for a refund of every payment you have made, add-ons included (for bookings made at least 60 days before departure). The exact date is shown when you book.

From the seventh day after you book: the cancellation charges in section 6 of our Booking Terms apply to the trip price (deposit, then 50%, then 100% as departure gets closer; Carnival packages have their own steps), and optional add-ons are not refunded. You can still transfer your place to another traveller up to 14 days before departure.

Your payment dates: the amounts and due dates are shown before you confirm and in your Soca Islands account. The full balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. We remind you before each payment; if one is missed you have 7 days to pay it before the booking can be cancelled under our cancellation charges.

If we cancel a trip: you choose a full refund within 14 days, a free transfer to another departure or trip, or a travel credit worth 105% of what you paid.

At checkout, before you pay, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms, and we keep a record of that with your booking. If a charge is ever disputed, that record and your booking and payment history are what we share with your card issuer.

If something is wrong with a charge, please contact us first at bookings@socaislands.com so we can look at it with you. Nothing in our terms takes away rights you have under the law or your card issuer's rules. If a charge made in line with these terms is disputed and the dispute is decided in our favour, the amount remains due under your booking.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, and Apple Pay on supported devices. All payments are made securely online, at checkout or in your Soca Islands account. If you would like to pay a large balance by bank transfer, contact us at bookings@socaislands.com.

There is no fixed deadline, but spaces on each trip are limited, so secure your spot as soon as you can. For trips 90 days or more away the deposit is $300 per person ($500 on Carnival trips); closer to departure a larger share (or the full amount) is due at booking, as shown in the payment plans below.

Log in to your Soca Islands account at any time to make a payment towards your trip. Your account shows each amount and its due date.

If your credit card payment is declined, it is a good idea to check with your bank to see why. If you are still having trouble, try using another card or get in touch with us at bookings@socaislands.com. If you are having trouble meeting an installment due date, please let us know in advance at bookings@socaislands.com, and we will do our best to help you out.
