This short trip is built for people who want a lot of Europe in a little time: three countries, one week and a group of 6 to 16 travelers to share it with.

Paris comes first, with a group picnic within sight of the Eiffel Tower and a free afternoon for Montmartre, Notre Dame or a café terrace. Then you swap boulevards for mountains. Interlaken sits between two lakes below the Jungfrau peaks, and your days there are for choosing your own adventure, from canyoning and whitewater rafting to glacier trips or a cold swim.

The last leg heads south past Milan to Rome, where an orientation walk and an evening out with the group round things off. Expect full days, good company and plenty of stories by the end.

Why This Journey

Paris, the Swiss Alps and Rome are three very different worlds, and linking them on your own takes a lot of booking and a lot of timetables. Here the long road days are handled, the group is waiting at every stop and your Soca Islands Host knows where to go after dark, so the week feels like one trip rather than three.

It suits younger-spirited and active travelers, solo or with friends, who would rather spend two days in the mountains choosing their own thrills than follow a fixed program, and who enjoy ending the day with new friends around a table.

Where You'll Stay

Group itinerary

Arrive at your own pace and transfer to the hotel, a short walk from the Eiffel Tower and the Seine.

In the evening you meet your Soca Islands Host and the rest of the group for a drink, an easy start to the week in the French capital.

Overnight in Paris

Today is gentle. The group shares a picnic lunch near the Eiffel Tower, and then the city is yours: Notre Dame, the artists' hill of Montmartre, the Left Bank bookstalls or simply a long walk with no destination.

Meals: Lunch Overnight in Paris

Trade Paris for the mountains on a long travel day east. By the time you reach Interlaken, lakes and snow-capped peaks surround you on every side, and the evening is yours to settle in.

Overnight in Interlaken

A quick orientation walk shows you around town, and then it's your call: canyoning, whitewater rafting, a glacier excursion or a plunge into one of the clear lakes.

After dark, the group heads out together.

Overnight in Interlaken

Another free day in Interlaken. Go big on adrenaline, or take it slow with lakeside walks along Lake Thun or Lake Brienz and long views of the Jungfrau.

Overnight in Interlaken

A long southbound travel day takes you out of Switzerland, past Milan and down the length of Italy to Rome.

On arrival, your Soca Islands Host leads an orientation walk, and later you can join the group to sample Roman food and nightlife.

Overnight in Rome

The trip finishes today. Fly out whenever you're ready, or stay on to see more of the city's ancient sites.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.
