Customer Code of Conduct
SOCA ISLANDS CUSTOMER CODE OF CONDUCT
Version 2026.10.1
Effective for bookings made on or after 22 October 2026
This Code of Conduct was updated on October 22 2026
This Code applies to every traveller on a Soca Islands trip and to any guest a traveller brings to a Soca Islands activity, accommodation or event. Following it is a condition of your booking under section 15 of our Booking Terms and Conditions. It is short on purpose: it describes how we look after each other so everyone has a great trip.
This version applies to bookings made on or after 22 October 2026. Bookings made before then remain under the version in force when they were made.
1. RESPECT EVERYONE
Treat fellow travellers, our hosts, suppliers and local people with courtesy. Harassment, bullying, threats and violence are not tolerated, in person or online, including in trip WhatsApp groups and on social media.
2. NO DISCRIMINATION OR HARASSMENT
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion (or lack of it), sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or family status, body size or appearance. This includes jokes, slurs and unwanted comments. See our Non-discrimination Policy.
3. CONSENT
Any sexual or physical contact requires clear, enthusiastic consent from everyone involved, every time. Someone who is asleep, unconscious or heavily impaired cannot consent. "No", silence or hesitation means no.
4. ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Many of our experiences, including Carnival fetes, include alcohol. Please drink responsibly and look out for each other. Do not take part in any activity, such as swimming, boat trips, hiking or the road, while impaired to a degree that puts you or others at risk; our hosts may ask you to sit an activity out. Illegal drugs are not permitted on any Soca Islands trip, and local drug laws can carry severe penalties.
5. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AND BE ON TIME
Follow the reasonable instructions and safety briefings of our hosts and suppliers. Transfers and activities run to schedule; please be on time so the group is not held up (see the transport timings in our Booking Terms).
6. LOCAL LAWS AND CUSTOMS
Respect the laws, customs and environment of the places we visit. You are responsible for any fines or penalties you incur.
7. PHOTOS OF OTHER TRAVELLERS
Ask before you photograph or post other travellers, and remove content if someone asks you to. See our Image Policy.
8. PROPERTY
Look after the accommodation, transport and venues we use. You are responsible for the cost of any damage or loss you cause.
9. HOW TO RAISE A CONCERN
If you experience or see behaviour that breaks this Code, or anything that makes you feel unsafe, tell the Soca Islands host on your trip straight away, or email bookings@socaislands.com. We take every report seriously, we keep it as confidential as we can, and nobody who reports a concern in good faith will be treated badly for doing so. If your concern is about a Soca Islands host or another member of our team, email bookings@socaislands.com directly: it goes to the company's management, not to the host, and you do not need to raise it with the host first. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first. Where the law requires, or where someone's safety is at risk, we may involve the local authorities.
10. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CODE IS BROKEN
Depending on how serious the behaviour is, our host may give a warning where it is safe to do so, exclude you from an activity, or remove you from the trip. If you are removed, you will not receive a refund and you must pay your own costs of accommodation and travel home. We may refuse future bookings. These consequences are set out in section 15 of our Booking Terms and Conditions.
