Five days, one Maya city, one reef and one small island where nobody hurries. This trip packs its adventure into the first full day, then lets the Caribbean set the pace.
Explore Altun Ha, a Maya city whose temples have stood for more than 2,000 years, then drift on an inner tube through a cave system the Maya once held sacred. By evening you're on the boat to Caye Caulker.
From there it's island rhythm. A private catamaran takes you out for a full day of snorkeling along the reef, where you may spot nurse sharks and sea turtles, with lunch and drinks served on board.
Your last full day mixes a surprise group activity with an afternoon at The Split, the island's famous swimming spot. Get around by golf cart, grab a fresh coconut, and finish with a celebration dinner with the friends you've made.
Why This Journey
Belize is one of the easiest places in the Caribbean to combine ancient history and the reef in a single short trip, and this route does it without long transfers: one night on the mainland, three on the island, with the boat crossing built into the day.
It suits travelers who want a proper island break with a bit of adventure attached, and anyone with only a few days of leave. The catamaran day, the cave tubing and the group dinners give the trip its shape, while Caye Caulker's slow pace takes care of the rest. Groups are small, from 6 to 16 travelers.

Group itinerary
Once you land in Belize City, transfer to your hotel. Grab a drink by the pool and start getting to know the group.
Tonight you'll have dinner together, then there's time for a swim or an early night. The real action starts in the morning.
After breakfast, head to Altun Ha. Walk among its temples and plazas as your guide explains how this Maya center thrived more than 2,000 years ago.
After lunch, grab an inner tube and float through a huge cave system, past rock formations the Maya treated as sacred.
Then it's off to the coast and a short boat ride to Caye Caulker, where your hotel sits right by the water.
Start slowly with breakfast and a stroll along the waterfront.
Mid-morning, step aboard your private catamaran and spend the whole day at sea, stopping at several snorkel sites along the reef. Lunch and drinks are served on deck between swims.
The evening is free. Eat by the water or join the island's beach-bar crowd.
Enjoy an easy morning after breakfast, then a surprise activity with the group before lunch.
After lunch, make your way to The Split, Caye Caulker's best-known place to swim and hang out, and settle in with the view. Stay as long as you like, then gather for your farewell dinner.
Have breakfast, then ride the ferry back to the mainland, watching the water change color as you go.
Four nights, one reef, one island, and a group of new friends. Allow time to reach the airport for your flight home.

A small inn on the water's edge in Caye Caulker village, about a mile from the barrier reef, known for its sunset views across the water.
