The Tobago Cays are the jewel of the Grenadines: five small, uninhabited islands ringed by coral reef and protected as a national marine park. This day gets you there under sail aboard a luxury catamaran.

Once the anchor drops, it's into the water. Sea turtles feed in the shallows here, and the reef is busy with tropical fish, so even first-time snorkelers get plenty to look at.

Afterward you'll spend time on the sand at Salt Whistle Bay, a curve of white beach on Mayreau, then continue to Canouan for a tropical lunch.

The sail home is your chance to stretch out on deck and let the day sink in.

Why This Journey

The Tobago Cays are reachable only by boat, and arriving on a catamaran with time to snorkel among the turtles is the classic way to see them. Adding Salt Whistle Bay and lunch on Canouan turns it into a full Grenadines island-hop.

It suits snorkelers of every level, couples and groups who want a long day on the water, and anyone visiting St Vincent and the Grenadines who wants to see its best-known marine park.

Group itinerary

You'll set off by catamaran across open water, with island after island sliding past on the way to the Tobago Cays.

In the marine park, grab a mask and fins and head in. Turtles are a regular sight, and the coral here is home to shoals of reef fish.

Next stop is Salt Whistle Bay on Mayreau, where you can swim, sunbathe or find a patch of shade on the soft white sand.

Lunch is on Canouan, a tropical island meal with coastal views.

The afternoon ends with an unhurried sail back, breeze in your face and plenty of time to swap stories with the group.

Yes. If you arrive on Day 1 of your adventure or book pre-tour accommodation with us, your airport arrival transfer is included. If you choose alternative pre-tour accommodation or arrive by another mode of transport, you’ll need to arrange your own arrival transfer.

Our arrival transfers are private to Soca Islands and are organised in groups based on flight times. Sometimes this means a short wait at the airport until other flights arrive.

There are no scheduled activities on the final day, so feel free to book your departure at your own convenience.

We recommend arriving before 3 pm on Day 1 to make it in time for the welcome event. But don’t worry no matter when you land, we’ll have an airport transfer ready for you.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.
