Non-discrimination Policy
Version 2026.10.2
Effective from 29 October 2026
This policy was updated on October 29 2026
Soca Islands brings people from every background together to experience the Caribbean and the world. We want every traveller to feel welcome and respected, whoever they are, wherever they come from, however they worship and whomever they love. This policy explains what we commit to, the limits that apply to every traveller equally, and what to do if you think we have fallen short. It applies to our team, our trip hosts and the suppliers we work with. How travellers treat each other is covered by our Customer Code of Conduct.
1. OUR COMMITMENT
We do not refuse a booking, offer different terms, or treat anyone less favourably because of race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion or belief, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or marital or family status, except for the limits in section 2, which apply to everyone in the same way. We respect the gender a traveller tells us they identify with.
2. LIMITS THAT APPLY TO EVERYONE
Some conditions are part of how a trip runs safely and lawfully. They are not discrimination, and we apply them the same way to every traveller:
- Age. Travellers must be 18 or older unless a trip page or quote says otherwise (section 2 of our Booking Terms and Conditions).
- Shared rooms. When we pair travellers who book to share, we pair people of the same sex, for privacy and safety (section 7 of the Booking Terms). Any traveller can choose a single room, subject to availability.
- Supplier and safety requirements. Hotels, boats, transport and activity providers set genuine safety rules, such as weight limits, swimming ability or the accessibility of a vessel or building. We tell you about them before you book where we know them.
- The law of the destination. We, our suppliers and our travellers must follow the laws of the countries we visit, even where they differ from the law where you live. If a destination's laws or customs may affect you, ask us before you book and we will tell you honestly what we know.
3. DISABILITY AND ACCESS
We welcome travellers with disabilities. We will:
- describe a trip's physical demands and accessibility honestly, including what we do not know, so you can decide whether it suits you;
- talk with you about your needs before you book, as section 14 of our Booking Terms asks, and make reasonable adjustments where we can;
- not charge more for an adjustment we provide;
- communicate with you in an accessible way, including by email or through a relay service.
Some trips involve stairs, uneven ground, boats, long walks and heat, and accessibility varies widely between destinations and suppliers. We cannot guarantee that every activity or venue will be accessible, but we will never decide for you without first discussing it with you.
Service animals (dogs trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability) are welcome wherever our suppliers and the destination's laws allow them. Many airlines, hotels and countries have their own rules. Emotional-support animals are considered case by case, and we cannot promise they will be accepted.
4. RAISING A CONCERN
If you believe you have been treated unfairly by our team, a trip host or a supplier, email hello@socaislands.com, or tell your trip host during the trip. Concerns about a host or staff member go directly to the company's management. We will acknowledge your concern within 5 business days, look into it, and reply in full within 30 days. Nobody who raises a concern in good faith will be treated worse for doing so.
5. WHEN SOMEONE BREAKS THIS POLICY
If a member of our team or a trip host breaks this policy, we take corrective action, which may include ending their work with us. If a supplier does, we raise it with them and may stop using them.
