A tuk-tuk is the right speed for Antigua. With the sides open and a local guide at the wheel, you'll wind up Fig Tree Drive through the island's greenest stretch, pulling over for photos and to buy just-picked fruit from roadside vendors.
Then the day turns to the coast. You'll stop at three white-sand beaches, each a chance to swim, float or sit in the sun before rolling on to the next.
Snacks, bottled water and fruit punch come with the ride, and the group is small, so it feels more like a day out with friends than a coach tour.
Why This Journey
Fig Tree Drive and the beaches are two very different sides of Antigua, and it's rare to get both in a single morning or afternoon. The open-sided tuk-tuk keeps you close to the roadside life along the way, from fruit stalls to rainforest views, rather than watching it through a window.
It's an easy, sociable outing for first-time visitors, with a local guide driving and a Soca Islands Host along, and plenty of beach time built in.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.
Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.
