This is Antigua seen from the water, all the way around. You travel the coastline by powerboat, so the shore unrolls quickly and more of the day goes on the stops that matter.
The first big one is Stingray City, a shallow sandbank where the rays glide right up to you. Lunch follows on Green Island, then the boat runs along the south coast past English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard before dropping anchor at the Pillars of Hercules, where the cliffs step down into clear water and there's a historic anchor to find on the seabed.
The last stop is Rendezvous Bay, a secluded south-coast beach: swim, snorkel or stretch out on the sand with a cup of homemade rum punch. Snorkel gear, snacks and that rum punch are part of the day.
Why This Journey
Most visitors see Antigua one beach at a time. A full loop of the coast shows you how the island fits together, from the seabird islands off the north-east shore to the old naval harbor and the quiet bays of the south, all in one afternoon on the water.
It suits anyone who likes to be in the sea rather than just looking at it: there are three chances to get wet, from swimming with stingrays to snorkeling under the cliffs, with a Soca Islands Host along for the day.

Great Bird Island (pass by)
The loop begins along the north-east coast. Keep an eye out for seabirds as the boat slips past this small offshore island and the shallow water around it.
Stingray City
Time to get wet. In this shallow marine park the resident rays come right up to you. Swim with them, then look around the reef and sandbank at your own pace.
Green Island (lunch)
The boat pulls into a quiet beach on Green Island for lunch and a break from the waves before the run down the coast.
Nelson's Dockyard (pass by)
Cruising past English Harbour, your captain points out the old colonial buildings of the dockyard and explains what each one was used for.
Pillars of Hercules
Anchor below the cliffs, where the rock steps down into very clear water. Snorkel over the rock formations under the surface and look for the historic anchor resting on the seabed.
Rendezvous Bay
The final stop is a secluded beach on the south coast. Swim, snorkel or just lie back on the sand with a cup of homemade rum punch to close the day.
